January 06 • Get to Give

Day 546 No matter the subject, when I prepare to teach or preach, it has always been true that I have gained more from the preparation and delivery than anyone who is receiving the information. Some of that is purely in doing research and reading to improve my knowledge base, but the most significant part is the difference between getting and giving. As I begin to feel more comfortable reaching out to others in the program, I am becoming aware of that dynamic even more. It's not that I am full of wisdom or sage advice, but I believe in the value of giving what you have and receiving with gratitude what you get. That may never be more true than in this recovery. –JR
